CDE Adult Education Office Requests Feedback from the Field about the State PlanPosted on 05/07/2015
Chris Nelson, Education Administrator at Adult Education Office, Career and College Transition Division, California Department of Education issued the following statement:
"Recently, the Office of Career Technical and Adult Education (OCTAE) requested states to create a plan for Adult Education that transitions the state from the Title II of the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 to the Title II of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014. Over the course of recent months, the Adult Education Office of the California Department of Education has been developing this transitional plan that will lead to a planning process to create a long term state plan. You can review the transition plan at http://www.cde.ca.gov/be/ag/ag/yr15/agenda201505.asp . The plan is item 11.
"We are interested in getting your feedback on this initial plan as it will begin to inform us about creating a long term state plan for Adult Education. You can send us your feedback at ADULTEDUCATION@cde.ca.gov. Please provide your feedback by Friday, June 12, 2015.
"In the months to come, there will be more opportunities to participate in developing a long term state plan for Adult Education including partnership meetings, regional meetings, conferences, regional trainings and public hearings.
"We look forward to your comments and thank you for your interest in Adult Education."
