Families Learning Summit

National Center for Families Learning’s Families Learning Summit will take place Monday, October 17, 2016 8:30 AM - Wednesday, October 19, 2016 12:00 PM at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center.

2016 Call for Proposals
NCFL is now seeking proposals that reflect the best thinking and practices in literacy across the lifespan, two-generation education solutions, and parent and family engagement. Adult Education Strand
In partnership with the Commission on Adult Basic Education (COABE), the Summit will offer a special strand of sessions specifically focused on the latest topics, strategies, and innovations in adult education. Learn alongside adult educators addressing the needs and strengths of today’s adult learners—and opportunities addressed by the best in the field.

PNC Makerspace Lounge
The 2016 Families Learning Summit will feature the PNC Makerspace Lounge as part of the three-day conference! This innovative space will utilize traditional makerspace ideas while fusing design think principles to engage participants in collaborative creating. Participants will be invited to collectively brainstorm and create education-themed outcomes with the hope that the ideas generated spark new content to invigorate their classrooms and networks.
