ABOUT OTAN TRAINING: Workshop Descriptions
|Workshop title||Mobile Devices: Basics|
The format of this workshop is new so please read the following information carefully. This workshop will meet for a 30 minute demonstration session by the presenter. Participants will be assigned tasks for hands-on practice to be completed during the following week for a time commitment of 2.5 hours. Once participants have completed the tasks, they will post their results in an online course for evaluation. Participants will have personal support from the presenter, Susan Gaer, through online discussions. To earn the 3 hour attendance certificate and digital badge, participants must attend the online session and complete the tasks assigned.
Task 1: Participants will download the Remind app (formerly Remind 101) and set up a class. They will add the presenter (Susan Gaer) as one of their students and send a message to the class.
Task 2: Participants will download the Flickr app and create a Flickr account. Participants will share the account with the presenter. Participants will have their students upload a photo with a caption.Prerequisites: This workshop requires ownership of, or access to, a mobile device such as an Ipad or cell phone with texting capability.

Minimum System Requirements for Participating in Online Workshops:
- Broadband Internet connection (DSL, Cable modem or faster, no dial-up).
- Computer with speakers or headphones (some classes require microphones too).
- Active e-mail account through registration for the course as an OTAN member.
